Mark & Abby's wedding at Dana Villas, Santorini, Greece
Well that can we say, we haven't been to many weddings this year, so we were so lucky to get to goto this one. After all the doom and gloom 2020 has bought us, we were on top of the world capturing this beautiful day!
Mark and Abby initially booked us for their wedding back in June, but unfortunately, like the rest of the industry, had to postpone due to Covid-19, but were able to rearrange to Mid September 2020. Unfortunately due to travel restrictions and lack of travel refunds, their family were unable to join them on their postponed date. So attending the wedding was the Bride & Groom, myself and Helen from Helen Williams Photography, it was just incredible!!! Anyone that knows us, knows we love spending time taking couples portraits, and we got to do that all day in the 27 degree sun!
We started with a pre-wedding shoot at the North of the island in Oia, we were told this was the best place on the island to watch the sunset. Despite the huge crowds, we were able to get some great photos as the sun set over the ocean to a round of applause.
The next day was the wedding, we stared out drinking bucks fizz and espresso in the couples (really nice) apartment as they got ready together, so relaxed, we had such a great time capturing it all. We then headed to over to Dana Villa's for the ceremony, which as you can see by the photos, has the most amazing view across the sea, such a stunning place.
Following the ceremony, we were able to take some photos of the couple around the local area whilst waiting for the sun to set, then headed back to Dana Villas for a cutting of the cake and first dance, as wedding photos go, they do not get any better than this!
The evening ended at Santorini's best restaurant, Da Vinci's, where we enjoyed pizza, before heading back to the apartment for drinks.
If you are thinking of getting married in Santorini, JUST DO IT! Its just the most amazing setting, has the nicest people and the best food. Thanks so so much to Mark and Abby for having us join them their special day, they started out as clients, and we left them as good friends. All the best for the future, though im sure we will see you around sometime soon.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Helen at www.helenwilliamsphotography.co.uk for coming along to help! Here is a highlight of their wedding video and photos, enjoy!
