Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photos

For your special day, nothing could be more idyllic than saying ‘I do’ in this stunning oak barn beside a tranquil lake. Sandhole Oak Barn’s wedding venue is set in 400 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside and offers a magnificent setting for your wedding day.

Designed specifically with weddings in mind, the venue was completed in 2005 and is a family run business. With a fairy-tale, rural setting, each element of your day has been carefully considered, from the moment you walk down the aisle to that momentous first dance.

Sandhole oak Barn is one of our most favourtie venues, it is just the most incredible place! Especially on a summers day overlooking that lake, it doens come any better. The setup of the barns bridal prep room, ceremony room and groom prep room have clearly been thought about, within a few meters walkign distance of each other, makes the logistics on any wedding day just so easy.

Ceremony

The ceremony at Sandhole Oak Barn can either be held inside the barn itself or outside under the clocktower in the summer, either way, its just a short walk from the bridal suite and after that amazing view over the lake when you say your vowels.

Pictures in the ceremony room are a Photography's dream, this is due to the light flooding in from the doors at the front, and the beams overhead make for great surroundings from the back. Cheshire East Council are the registrars that cover this area, you can rest assure whoever conducts your ceremony, it will be one of the nicest registrars in the whole of the north-west.

After the ceremony, guests are allowed to throw confetti as you walk back down the aisle before heading outside for your drinks reception. We have photographed many weddings in the rain here and a drinks reception inside is equally as good.

Drinks Reception

The drinks reception is usually held outside after the ceremony which is a great time for us to capture all of those smiles, hugs hand shakes, laughter and excitement. It's also a great time for you guests to relax and have a glass of champagne again overlooking the lake sat in the Sun. If it does rain or its cold and you have to have your drinks reception inside, the barn is a great intimate place for you to chat to you guests and have a drink, oh and speak to your new wife/husband.

Portraits and Group Photos

We are spoilt for choice at Sandhole as to where to have the photos taken, wherever you look makes a great backdrop. The fact the barn is south facing means you get all kinds of different light coming directly from the Sun moving right across the sky, then creating the most amazing sunsets you will have ever seen. Therefore we split the portrait sessions up throughout the day first starting after your drinks reception, then again in the evening during the sunset and at night in the dark. Group photos of the bridal party family and friends are usually taken with the lake in the background but can sometimes be windy so can also be taken inside with the barn as a backdrop.

The sunset at Sandhole can be seen all around the barn so we try and make each wedding unique by taking photos in different places each time. Also depending on the time of year the sun will set in a slightly different place, but don't worry we always know the best places depending on the month you get married, we don't have to waste any time on the day looking around.

Before your wedding we will always meet up with you and run through the day, so we know exactly where we are going to take the photos in the shortest time possible so you can go back to your guests can continue your day having fun with your guests.

Night time at the venue is one of our favourite times to take your portraits, the venue is lit up and we can use our lights to create some epic creative moments in our signature style from around the venue, as you can see below.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

As you can see from the photos below, the wedding breakfast room is stunning and always set out incredibly well by the staff at the venue. The food will be provided by Top Table Caterers, we have tried most meals they create and each one is simply mouth watering! Especially the trio of deserts, BEST DESERT EVER!

This is the same room you will have your speeches in, depending on how you have the room set up will depend on the backdrop, but whichever way you have it, it will look amazing.
